Embroidery Decoupage

As technology advances are our embroidery machines equipped with more and more beautiful to make our tools to perfect embroidery more.

There are embroidery machines with which you can combine embroidery designs, color sort your designs, embroidery designs rotation, scaling, and format your designs.

The size of the hoop on our embroidery machines are incredibly now ... some big enough to do a whole quilt-block in a hooping.

But even with all this technology, there is still the fear that we may just place our embroidery design incorrect on our project ...What if the design not line up? What if a is slightly angled? What if I do the first 8 embroidery and correctly then there is a problem with the 9th design?

Embroidery Decoupage to the rescue!

Quite simply put, is embroidery decoupage (a name coined by Jenny Haskins) a technique that allows you to convert almost any embroidery design in a free-standing design that can then be stitched to your project in the exact location that you would like to be.

Sew ... Let's start with our new embroidery decoupage technique!

Place one layer of a polyester or nylon mesh cut stabilizer, and one layer of pure polyester or nylon organza, together in your hoop. (Normally the organza goes on the top, but it doesn't really matter)

Use RAYON thread insert your design, wire change colors, as you would if you were stitching directly on the fabric of your project. Rayon thread will not melt as a polyester thread, so this will be an important part of the embroidery decoupage technique is.

When you're done, you will want to remove the excess stabilizer and organza of around your stitched from design. If your embroidery design you can decoupage is a simple design, cut it off with a nice sharp pair of scissors, but the best results are achieved using the magic wand of a stencil. There are a variety of these on the market, many of them packed with a variety of interchangeable tips. Choose a tip that is narrow and pointed (some even have a curve in them) because this kind of tip edge on your embroidery will the cleanest decoupage design, and it will be the easiest to use. When the wand is called stencil walking around the edge of your design, and it will melt the nylon or poly stabilizer, but it will not melt your thread territory.

Note: when using the magic wand of a stencil for the technique embroidery decoupage it is important that the wires from the front and the back of your project prior to using the wand are truncated. Remember that you used, because we did not want rayon thread embroidery decoupage to melt if the stencil design touches wand so that all threads trimming this part of the embroidery decoupage technique makes go much easier.

Once the excess stabilizer is deleted, you can glue a stick put a little glue on the back of the embroidered design and place it on your project in the exact location that you want to create.

Then use a matching thread, or a thread monofilament and your sewing machine stitch the embroidery design in place.

Now All that's left is to enjoy the perfect placement of your embroidery decoupage project!
